The Southern Cross VIP Plan.

Southern Cross is New Zealand's largest specialist health insurer and is a not-for-profit society owned and run entirely for the benefit of their members.

Southern Cross has a special group health insurance scheme for members of RCSA, which may protect you against the high costs of private hospitalisation. Doctor's visits, prescriptions, dentistry and lenses can also be covered if you wish.

The special concessions for you and your family through your Member Benefits Program are:

• Monthly bank deduction

These benefits are available to new Southern Cross members buying a VIP policy for the first time.

The VIP Plans reimburse up to 100% of the costs you incur, up to $75,000 of medically necessary surgical procedures, subject to policy terms and conditions.

VIP is a modular product. The foundation module ensures cover for the problems that are least predictable and have the highest potential cost, namely surgery and medical treatment in hospital (VIP1). Then, depending on your needs, you can add modules that cover specialist and diagnostic test costs (VIP2), GP and prescription charges (VIP3) and 75% reimbursement for dental and optical charges (VIP4). With VIP plans 1 and 2 you can choose excess options, where you agree to pay a part of your treatment costs and, in return, your annual premium is reduced.
